      Lace Cascade Lace, table runners, toiles, beads 16 x 53 This artwork entitled "Lace Cascade" is an exploration of femininity, delicacy, and resilience through the medium of lace. Inspired by feminism, this sculpture celebrates the intricate beauty of lace table runners and lampshade materials, traditionally associated with domesticity, and transforms them into a striking visual. The use of lace, with its intricate patterns and delicate texture, embodies the complexities of femininity, weaving together strength and vulnerability. The monochrome cream color palette enhances the sculpture's ethereal quality, evoking purity and subtlety while allowing light to play upon its surfaces with gentle grace. Each bead, meticulously placed, symbolizes the resilience and beauty found in the intricate details of womanhood, while the process of crafting the sculpture reflects the patience, dedication, and artistry inherent in feminine expression.

  Personal Banner Research  Aiko Hachisuka  Makes her sculptures out of old thrifted clothes. Noah Scalin Noah creates portraits using old clothes that have been carefully laid out on the ground. Behind the artwork rests hundreds of untold stories about the garments: who made them, who wore them and more. Reflection Statement The banner titled "Tied Up" was inspired by the artists Noah and Aiko, their idea to create art with old pieces of clothing that were going to be thrown away really stood out to me. My intent was to visually communicate that anything can become art and to push the idea of being sustainable. I wanted to focus on creating a masculine work of art. I decided to include old ties, a button-down shirt, and pieces of a suit. This piece allowed me to explore the beauty of reusing objects and items that most people would never think to use to create art and to repurpose it into something worth looking at.

  Research Banaoddromo  Gabby Katten Tim Eggert Sketches Sketch 1  Sketch 2 In progress Reflection Statement  The surface pattern titled Juni's World was inspired by the artist Banaoddromo. My intent is to visually communicate what a cat's mind looks like. I wanted to focus on having a fun and playful design because I really enjoyed Banaoddromo's funny designs. I decided to include my digital drawings. I want to keep exploring surface pattern designs using my digital drawings and also using my photography. This piece allowed me to explore new meanings of art and step out of my comfort zone. The making of this work exposed new ideas such as anything can be made into a beautiful pattern.
